Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, said that despite the war in Ukraine, the Israeli government is still in a “safe zone”. Accordingly, the Ukrainian diplomat said that Kiev wants to buy Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system and similar facilities.

“I want the Israeli government to get out of its comfort zone and look at reality. We need Israel’s help… I mean we need military-technical support; we need Iron Dome. ..”, Mr. Korniychuk announced.

Mr. Korniychuk emphasized that Kiev wants to buy the Iron Dome system, not counting the subsidies.

The Ukrainian diplomat also asked Israel to accept the delivery of the Spike SR anti-tank missile system to Ukraine.

“Last week, as far as I know for sure, the Americans authorized the transfer of Spike SR anti-tank missiles from Germany to Ukraine, and Israel said no,” Korniychuk said.

Ambassador Korniychuk complained that this is not the first time the Israeli authorities have refused to help Ukraine. For example, Ukraine has received only about 10% of the helmets and vests it asks for from Israel.

Ukraine also asked Israel to accept the amputated Ukrainian ex-soldiers for prosthetics, but it delayed the decision. Korniychuk also said that the war in Ukraine was barely covered in the Israeli media.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Iron Dome is a missile system designed to intercept and destroy short-range missiles or rockets fired from a distance of 4 to 70km. Iron Dome is a multi-layered air defense system, the core of which is a new late-stage missile defense interceptor complex called Stunner, designed to intercept missiles and rockets at a range of 40-200 km and effectively. interception reaches 90%,

Meanwhile, Israel has sold its Spike anti-tank missile system to 18 member states of the European Union and NATO. The system has a range of up to 32 km and can be fitted to helicopters, ships and ground launchers.

Ukraine’s proposals to Israel are made in the context of the war in the Donbass region, which is in a state of “boiling water”.

Ukraine’s General Staff said on Wednesday that Ukrainian forces had successfully resisted a Russian onslaught in Severodonetsk. However, the Russian military is moving new resources towards the Donbass.

The fierce fighting lasted for several days in Severodonetsk, as Russia concentrated its offensive power in the hope of achieving one of its stated goals – that of gaining complete control of the Lugansk province.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Popasna are the fiercest battlefields.
