Belarusian army conducts transition from peacetime to wartime

TASS news agency quoted the announcement of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus on June 7 as saying that the armed forces of Belarus had begun an exercise program to practice the transition from peacetime to war.

The agency wrote on its Telegram channel that all Belarusian servicemen, military units and command centers will participate in a master training course to coordinate the transition from peacetime to wartime.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry explains that these measures are fully in line with the training plan of the armed forces for the period 2021-2022.

According to the Moscow Times, two weeks earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ordered the creation of the Southern Operation Command to be in charge of military exercises organized by the US and its allies in the region.

“It is a wartime situation, but no war has broken out at this time,” Lukashenko told top defense officials on May 26.

In April, President Vladmir Putin called on Russia and Belarus to strengthen coordination in the context of Western countries launching a comprehensive sanctions campaign against these two countries.

He affirmed that Moscow and Minsk will continue to join forces in the common front to oppose any attempt to stall their development or isolate them from the global economy.

President Putin also affirmed that all efforts to isolate Russia and Belarus were completely futile and failed.
