Car crash in Germany: At least 1 person killed and 8 injured

German police said the incident happened around 10:30 a.m. on June 8 (local time) when a Renault car driven by a man rammed into a group of people standing on the sidewalk of Rankestrasse in Berlin. . After hitting the group of people, the car continued to crash into the door of a nearby building and stopped.

Police and fire brigade arrived quickly. A rescue helicopter was also dispatched to the scene to treat the injured. The driver who caused the incident was arrested by the police.

Police said it was not yet clear whether this was an intentional act or a traffic accident.
