Ms. Ha also pays special attention to the types of essays in the 10th grade English exam that students often make mistakes, including:
1. Pronunciation format (they often get it wrong because they don’t know what the underlined sound is and especially often have double vowels). Besides, they are not sure how to pronounce the “ed” and “s” endings, so they often lose points.
2. Stress exercises: They don’t pronounce words correctly, they don’t have the habit of reading and stressing on important syllables of words.
The way to fix it is to firmly grasp the rules of reading the stress of some endings in English.
3. Prepositions in fixed phrases.
Like the phrase: be similar to + N: similar (for example, Her eating habit is similar to mine), but students may mistake it as “similar with”.
4. Wrong verb phrase.
In the 1st semester program, students get to learn about phrasal verbs. However, with this part of knowledge, children are often confused because a verb combines with many different prepositions and has different meanings:
