Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Central Committee for External Relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government Office, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and officials from the Australian Embassy in Hanoi.

The establishment of the Vietnam – Australia Center Center (VAC) was made according to the agreement between the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of Australia in August 2019. The Center aims to contribute to improving the capacity of Vietnamese leaders and managers to meet the requirements of integration and development of the country, and at the same time promote a close, positive and sustainable cooperation relationship. between Vietnam and Australia in the new context.

The Vietnam – Australia Center will be jointly operated by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Aus4Skills program.
After the signing ceremony, the Project Steering Committee “Establishment and Capacity Building of the Vietnam – Australia Center” held its first meeting.
On this occasion, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang awarded the medal “For the cause of training and fostering political theory” to Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie for making many contributions to the training and fostering of political theory of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
