With ASEAN countries, the EU commits to support ASEAN’s central role and inclusive multilateral structure, considers ASEAN a top priority partner, and wishes to work with ASEAN to establish coordination mechanisms on security, international room, thereby expanding the EU’s presence in the region.
The European Parliament’s new resolution on the European Union’s Indo-Pacific strategy also proposes sending military advisers to the EU’s delegations in ASEAN countries and prioritizing the establishment of the European Union.
