The vehicle that collided with the fishing boat QNg 91426 TS at dawn on June 6 was Thinh Long 68, captained by Mr. Bui Van Long (SN 1966, Nam Dinh hometown). At the time of the accident, this ship was carrying 1,500 tons of kaolin from Dong Nai province to Thuan An port (Thua Thien – Hue province).

The crew members of Thinh Long 68 confessed that at about 3 o’clock on June 6, they heard the ship’s strong collision. However, due to the darkness of the night, they did not know anything specific.

The functional forces set up a working group to inspect the hull of Thinh Long 68, maritime equipment and the ship’s security camera system. Initially, the mission recorded a security camera that recorded images of a collision between the Thinh Long 68 ship and a fishing vessel with unknown number at sea.

The authorities are working closely to analyze the images and soon complete the investigation.

Regarding the incident of a fishing boat that was hit and killed 3 people, Mr. Tran Van Nam (48 years old, residing in Binh Hai commune, Thang Binh district) said that he was the one who saved the lives of 5 fishermen on board the accident and retrieved the bodies. in the middle of the sea.

According to Mr. Nam, around 5 am on June 6, he drove a motorboat to Binh Duong waters about 7 nautical miles from the shore to catch fish. After releasing the net, he heard a cry for help and ran to check.

“The distance between me and the group of victims at this time is nearly 300m. When I ran to the motorboat to find 3 people holding a plastic can, showing signs of exhaustion, so I picked them up one by one. At this time, all 3 were drinking. sea ​​water and exhaustion,” said Mr. Nam. After putting 3 people on the boat, the victims said that there were 4 fishermen (2 people died) at a distance of 100m, so Mr. Nam continued to start the engine to rescue.

When he arrived, he continued to put 2 people on the boat, 2 dead people were tied with ropes, floating.

“At this point, all five survivors were cold and hungry, I had to take off my shirt, give me a raincoat and water, and breathe to wake them up. Then, call the commune authorities and Cua Dai Border Guard Station to come to support”, Mr. Nam recalled.

After about 3 hours, the canoe at Cua Dai Border Guard station was present to bring the fishermen ashore, and Mr. Nam continued to look for the remaining missing fishermen. At about 10 a.m. on June 6, the last fisherman’s body on the fishing boat was found.

As reported, around 3:30 on June 6, an unknown ship collided with the fishing boat QNg-91426 TS led by fisherman Tran Van Cong (47 years old, native of Quang Ngai province) as captain and owner. .

The two ships collided at 15.47 degrees North latitude – 108.32 degrees East longitude, about 7 nautical miles from the coast of Binh Duong commune. There are 8 fishermen on board and all reside in Quang Ngai city. The incident left 3 fishermen dead, the remaining 5 people were lucky to escape.
