On June 7, Morawiecki said during a visit to Poland’s Stalowa Wola arms factory: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to sell our weapons abroad today, these weapons have been tested. experience will become very important on the battlefield, possibly in eastern Ukraine.”

The Prime Minister announced that part of the cost for these weapons would be covered by the European Union (EU), adding that Poland would use this money to increase production.

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin confirmed the deal and stated that the total amount would be around $628 million.

At the end of May 2022, Poland donated 18 self-propelled howitzers ‘Krab’ to the Kiev forces, and the Polish military forces trained about 100 Ukrainian artillerymen to operate them.

Warsaw claims to be one of the largest donors of military equipment to Ukraine, second only to the US. Poland has so far supplied Kiev with T-72 tanks, Gozdzik self-propelled howitzers, air-to-air missiles, drones and Grad rocket launchers.

Meanwhile, Moscow warned that any stockpile of Western weapons in Ukraine would be a “legitimate target”.

In addition to military aid, Poland also called on the EU to increase sanctions on Moscow, and asked NATO to provide weapons to Ukraine to fight the Russian campaign.

Russia launched a special military operation in the neighboring country after accusing Ukraine of failing to live up to the terms of the Minsk agreement, first signed in 2014. The Kremlin has since demanded that Ukraine take the right. formally declared a neutral country and will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. In response, Kiev asserted that the Russian operation was completely gratuitous and “unacceptable”.
