Minister Ho Duc Phuc said that enough in the state budget estimate assigned by the National Assembly at the beginning of the year to the Ministry of Finance, the allocation to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is 750 billion VND. “Money can be taken at any time, allotted without keeping any money. The Ministry of Culture is allocated nearly 500 billion VND, the rest is for a number of ministries and 12 localities to participate in the organization of the event. Out of the Ministry of Culture’s funding, there are more than 28 billion VND to pay referees and foreign technical officials at the 31st SEA Games. The total number of people performing the task is 1,200.

According to Mr. Hung, according to international practice, these people can receive cash or transfer depending on the regulations of the host country. “The person receiving the money through the account must provide the name of the bank, the beneficiary, the bank address of that country, a photocopy of the passport or an air ticket and send it to the Vietnamese agency. The Ministry has assigned the General Department of Physical Education and Sports to urge the referees to send information invoices at the request of the treasury and the bank, so we do not owe this amount,” said Mr. Hung.

The National Assembly Chairman added that the problem is only a procedure, “The ministry needs to focus on directing early and definitive payment, without affecting the reputation of the host country”.
