Children’s Hospital Ho Chi Minh City has just treated a 40-day-old baby who had an accident while lying in a hammock, the sewing machine fell on him.

The little girl lying in the mother’s hammock got caught in the sewing machine, the machine fell on her hand, broke the leg bone, broke the brachial artery, was hospitalized in the province and transferred to the City Children’s Hospital (Children 3 – Binh Chanh).

At the time of admission, her hand was pale and at risk of amputation, she was immediately taken to the operating room for emergency revascularization, then the bruise was too complicated, it was easy to clot, causing an embolism. The patient had to undergo re-canalization surgery 2 more times, for anticoagulation, the wound was bleeding profusely and had to have continuous blood transfusion. But the wound was too tight to compress the cavity, so he had to continue dissecting the forearm.

There was a time when he hesitated to amputate the limb to solve the dilemma, but the doctor was still determined to be minimally invasive to keep the arm.
