In terms of graphics performance, Apple has increased the number of GPU cores on the M2. This chip has a 10-core integrated GPU instead of the 8-core graphics processor in the M1.

The company says that the new M2 GPU is about 35% faster than the graphics processor in the M1. That could be due to the additional GPU cores, as well as other improvements.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro version M2 has the same design as the M1 version.

Ports and connections

Both models have 2 USB4 / Thunderbolt 3 ports that support a wide range of features, headphone jacks.

The product has the same connections as the MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 2020.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro models M2 and M1 both support Wi-Fi 6, 802.11ax, and Bluetooth 5.0. The new product still only supports a single external monitor, with a resolution of up to 6K at 60Hz.

Other features

Other minor features on both the M2 and M1 13-inch MacBook Pro are virtually identical.

Both devices come in Silver and Gray colors, the keyboard and trackpad are the same, and both keep their starting price of $1,299.

The product has the same starting price as its predecessor.

However, there are two minor differences. The M2-based MacBook Pro has slightly longer battery life, which can last up to 20 hours of video playback. The MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 lasted just 17 hours.

Overall, the 13-inch MacBook Pro M2 is just a decent upgrade over the previous M1. However, this product is worth buying because of its unchanged starting price, stronger performance, longer battery life, though not much.
