Being prosecuted, defendant Le Tung Van went to work as a CCCD and left the place of residence

Regarding this information, this afternoon (June 9), a representative of Long An Provincial Police confirmed that Mr. Le Tung Van was banned from leaving his residence but appeared in Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately after receiving the information, the functional forces of Long An province brought Mr. Le Tung Van back to the locality.

Before that, on June 7 on social networks, the image of Mr. Le Tung Van (90 years old) was spread on social networks, the head of the place who called himself “Bong Lai Pure Land” or called “Meditation on the edge of the universe” (Lap Lap hamlet). Thanh, Hoa Khanh Tay commune, Duc Hoa district) appeared at a police headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City to use as a chip ID.

The public wondered about this incident. Because Mr. Le Tung Van is one of 7 defendants in the “Bong Lai Pure Land” who were prosecuted for the crime of “abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the state, organizations and individuals”. The other defendants were arrested and detained, while Mr. Le Tung Van was banned from leaving the place of residence.

A representative of the Long An Provincial Police Department said that if the accused was banned from leaving the place of residence but still leaving the locality, the investigation agency will consider it, depending on the extent, it will change the prevention measures.
