Detecting the second drug transport tunnel from Mexico to the US

Mexican police said the tunnel was equipped with rails, lighting and ventilation systems. This is the second tunnel found by Mexican authorities in the same area in less than a month.

Using drug trafficking tunnels is a trick frequently used by Mexican drug cartels in recent years.

Earlier, on May 17, US officials announced that they had discovered an underground drug trafficking tunnel at the US-Mexico border. The tunnel is the length of a football field, or 110 meters, in an area where in the past two decades a dozen other similar tunnels have been discovered.
