Accordingly, the People’s Committee of Ea Sup district decided to discipline in the form of warnings against Mr. Dang Cong Tao, Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee and Mr. Vu Van Quang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ya To Mot Commune.
According to Mr. Nhiem, this deforestation case is being investigated by the police. If there is any official aiding the objects of deforestation, the district will continue to handle according to regulations.
Before that, when the Commune People’s Committee held a meeting, Mr. Tao admitted that the discipline was dismissal. However, the communal People’s Committee proposed to discipline Mr. Tao and Mr. Quang with a form of warning.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, by the end of March 2022, the subjects had brought vehicles and machines to destroy a total of more than 380 hectares of forest. The sound of chainsaws was loud for a long time, but the local authorities said they did not know.
During the investigation, the Investigation Police Agency of the Public Security of Dak Lak province prosecuted and detained 28 subjects for investigation of forest destruction.
Most of the people who cleared the forest were people who had previously contracted forest. When they heard that the province was about to allocate land to businesses to implement the project, they pulled together to destroy forests and occupy land.
