Exhibits car park fire: Compensation liability will be based on investigation results
The representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department confirmed that it would base on the investigation results to settle compensation in the fire of the car park on the principle of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
On the afternoon of June 9, at the press conference to inform about the epidemic situation and socio-economic issues in the area of Ho Chi Minh City, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Manh Ha, Deputy Head of the Advisory Department (PV01) of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security , said that the car park fire evidence of the City Traffic Police is under investigation, will provide specific information to the press when the results are available.

Regarding the responsibility for compensation for damage after the fire that reporters asked at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Manh Ha acknowledged that the settlement must be based on the results of the investigation.
However, the responsibility for preserving material evidences and means of administrative violations has been clearly defined in Clause 5, Article 125 of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations, as amended in 2020.
Colonel Ha affirmed that, in terms of legal provisions, based on the investigation results, direct causes and specific cases, the agency is still dealing with the general principle of the Constitution and the law to protect legitimate rights and interests of the people.
At the press conference, Lieutenant Colonel Le Manh Ha also informed about the situation of handling violations of alcohol concentration in the city.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ha, in the first five months of 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department handled more than 181,000 cases of traffic violations; including more than 18,000 cases of alcohol violations.
Ho Chi Minh City police consider alcohol content violations as one of the causes of traffic accidents. Therefore, the Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police has directed the City Traffic Police to strengthen inspection and handling of alcohol-related violations, especially at night.
