Jim Piazza’s family is on vacation in the waters of New Jersey. They go fishing but not far from the shore, only 2 km. The great white shark is half the length of Jim Piazza’s 7 meter boat.

Jim Piazza said: “I have never seen a great white at such close range. The shark drifted indifferently, showing no sign of attacking us. Its length impressed me. the right kind of great giant creature in the sea world”.

The 34-year-old man has spent many years fishing in the sea but has never seen a great white at such close range with his own eyes.

Jim Piazza reported the incident to the US Coast Guard, they sent staff to the area to check for safety. According to marine security officers, great white sharks are not unheard of off the coast of New Jersey, but this is the rare time when a close-up video of a great white shark has been recorded less than 2 km from shore.

During this time, the water in many seas in the US warms up, creating an opportunity for sharks to be active. In coastal cities, locals regularly share information about shark sightings. Massachusetts alone has discovered about 10 sharks. In New York, there is an increased use of drones to spot sharks before the animal approaches the shore.

In 2021 alone, there have been 47 shark attacks on humans. Experts advise swimmers to stay close to lifeguards and avoid swimming where seals are active.
