Harvey Weinstein charged with sexual harassment

Follow AP, on June 8, the UK Attorney General’s Office said it had convicted Weinstein after reviewing evidence provided by police. The famous film producer was found to have molested a woman (now in her fifties) between July and August 1996 in London.

After the Weinstein accusations emerged in 2017 during the MeToo movement, police in the UK said they were re-investigating numerous complaints of sexual harassment and rape from about 1980-2015. Unlike many countries, the UK does not set a time limit for prosecuting cases related to rape and groping.

Harvey Weinstein is currently suffering 23 years prison sentence in New York, USA. Because of the scandal, the film producer was wife left, bankrupt company. He faces five charges related to the rape and sexual assault of two women, Jessica Mann and Miriam Haley.
