Bong Mai has just successfully completed a 99-day journey across Vietnam. The female journalist has really lived brilliant days.
On February 2, 2022, female journalist Bong Mai loaded her luggage in the car and started her dream journey “99 days of Xuyen Viet with Mai”. The purpose of her trip is to discover and learn about the culture, customs and life of ethnic minorities in all parts of the country.
Finally, Bong Mai hopes that her journey will convey the message “Dare to live a brilliant life” that she always wants people to aim for. After 99 days, Bong Mai ended her journey, returning with a thin, tanned appearance.
However, now the light in her eyes seemed brighter. In particular, her smile is more radiant and filled with optimism and health.
In 99 days, Bong Mai traveled 10 thousand km, conquering many roads, even passes that are considered challenging for professional backpackers. During that journey, she met 33 ethnic groups, took pictures and recorded 53 costumes, collected 49 folk songs.
The female journalist also checked-in the 4 poles of the country, going all around the river provinces under the hot weather or heavy rain. During that 99-day journey, Bong Mai experienced the atmosphere of four seasons of the year.
The female journalist said the trip “beyond expectations” as she “dared to live a brilliant and admirable life”. She was especially impressed with the last days of her journey when she set foot in the homeland of her father – the late musician An Thuyen.
Bong Mai shared: “I feel the values of love instilled in my skin. It is my homeland, my origin, the blood of the people of Nghe An flowing in me. Those are the memories of my father and my age. poetry, about half a life marked.
Those values make me who I am today, a Vinh girl who is sometimes extreme but honest, affectionate and always does the things she sets out to do.
“I am proud of what I have accomplished during the journey of “99 days through Vietnam with Mai”. It’s never too late for you to dare to do, dare to live a brilliant life when you love and appreciate yourself!”, she added.
It is known that after the above journey, journalist Bong Mai plans to publish a memoir about the journey, the stories she met during the trip. In addition, Bong Mai wishes to publish a photo book about women and children of different ethnic groups and regions.
She also hopes to soon return to a few places where she realizes that there are still many precious national cultural values that have been gradually disappearing.
Journalist and director Bong Mai was born in 1977. She is a former member of a musical group Girl popular with 3 members. She has 12 years of working and producing at VTV3, 3 years as a manager of VTVcab Educational and Entertainment Content Production Center. Currently, Bong Mai is working at the newspaper Nowadays. “The 99-day journey through Vietnam with Mai” is the longest solo journey of a female journalist.
