The People’s Court of Binh Duong province today (June 9) opened a trial for defendant Huynh Nguyen Anh Quang (born 1987, hometown of Ho Chi Minh City) on the charge of “murder”. After deliberation, the jury sentenced Quang to life in prison.
According to the indictment, Quang and Mr. Hoa Van Toai (SN 1980, living in Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province) are friends.
On the morning of June 27, 2021, Quang and two other friends went to Toai’s house to organize a drink.
At about 13:00 on the same day, after drinking, Quang invited the group to a pub near Toai’s house to continue drinking. Toai refused because he was tired, so the rest of them went to the restaurant together.
While drinking here, Quang was angry because Mr. Toai refused to go out to drink, so he had the intention to beat his friend.
At about 5:00 p.m. on the same day, Quang took the scissors used to cut meat on the drinking table and ran to Toai’s house. Here, Quang went straight into the house and saw Mr. Toai sleeping on the floor. After kicking Toai, Quang used scissors to stab him in the chest, killing him.
