Russia-Ukraine conflict could lead to extreme poverty

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made the warning during the release of the second report of the Global Food, Energy and Financial Crisis Response in the United Nations. Ukraine conflict.

The United Nations report estimates that 94 countries, where 1.6 billion people live, are severely affected by at least one aspect of the crisis and are unable to cope.

Extreme poverty in the Middle East and North Africa could increase to 2.8 million people by 2022, while 500 million people in Southeast Asia are at risk.
