The decision to discipline Mr. Tao and Mr. Vu Van Quang, Vice Chairman of Ya To Mot Commune was announced by the Chairman of Ea Sup District People’s Committee on June 9. Before that, at a local review meeting, Mr. Tao acknowledged the discipline of dismissal.

According to the investigation, in early April, dozens of people in Ya To Mot, Ia Rve and Ea Le communes used chainsaws, cars, etc., to destroy 382 hectares of natural forest in sub-zone 205 and sub-zone 222. Many places were destroyed. white, forest trees are scattered, more than 1,000 m3 of wood damage.

Dak Lak Provincial Police have prosecuted, arrest 28 people to investigate forest destruction. Most of the violators had previously received forest contracts.

Dak Lak Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assessed that this is a large-scale and organized forest destruction. The deforestation group used cars to transport people to saw wood for about 15 days.

People said that the sound of chainsaws was loud for a long time, but the forest owner, the People’s Committee of Ya To Mot commune and the local forest ranger, did not know.
