Sheet Khmer Times June 10 quoted the Secretary of State and Spokesperson Ministry of Health Cambodia Or Vandine said the country has just started injecting Covid-19 vaccine 5th for priority groups across the country.
Priority groups include government leaders, parliament, healthcare workers, government officials, civil servants, armed forces, senior citizens, embassy staff, national and international organizations journalists and celebrities.
“Vaccines are the most powerful tool to protect your life from Covid-19. Booster shots will help increase immunity to Covid-19. So come and get booster shots when it’s your turn,” said Ms. Vandine while visiting a vaccination site in Phnom Penh on June 9.
This official said that the interval between nose 4 and 5 is at least 3 months. Cambodia has had no cases of Covid-19 since June 7, after the last patient recovered. The bulletin did not specify the type of vaccine Cambodia used for the 5th dose.
Ms. Vandine attributed Cambodia’s success in controlling the pandemic to the effectiveness of the vaccine. Across the country, the number of people who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine is more than 15 million, or 94% of the population. About 14.3 million people had at least 2 injections, 9.28 million people had at least 3 injections and 2.6 million people had at least 4 injections.
Thanks to the vaccine, Cambodia has restored all socio-economic activities and reopen the border For those who have had enough vaccines without isolation, apply from November 2021. However, some suggested that health authorities should consider shortening the gap between the number of people who received the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th shots.
