Hanoi continues to enroll students for dual high school diploma programs

The Department of Education and Training confirmed that the double baccalaureate program will continue to be implemented in 2022 and keep the enrollment regulations stable.

On the evening of June 9, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued an announcement about the enrollment of 10th graders in the dual-baccalaureate training program, the Vietnamese national high school program and the British baccalaureate (A-Level certificate). ) in the academic year 2022-2023. In addition to affirming continued enrollment, the Department said that the regulations and forms of enrollment will be kept stable as in 2021-2022, in order to create favorable conditions for candidates and parents.

Accordingly, two high schools training this program are Hanoi – Amsterdam and Chu Van An. The target of previous years was 100 for both schools, but this year’s recruitment rate has not been announced by the Department. In addition, students can apply for dual degree programs at non-public schools with the Cambridge system.

Eligibility requirements are that students or parents have permanent residence in Hanoi, are of the right age, have graduated from secondary school, have an average score of 9th grade in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry from 8 or higher, subject English from 8.5 and Literature from 6.5. They must also register to enroll in class 10 of a public high school for the school year 2022-2023.

Students may apply to both schools, but must be ranked in order of preference. The desire to enter the 10th grade of the training program with the baccalaureate degree is independent, and does not affect the desire to enroll in specialized and non-specialized high schools. Thus, candidates who register to participate in the training program but still have the same number of opportunities to enter specialized and non-specialized public high schools.

Regarding the enrollment method, students have to participate in two rounds of exams. Round 1 of the entrance exam according to the Vietnamese national high school baccalaureate training program. Candidates take exams in the entrance exam for class 10 of public non-specialized high schools as usual, including Mathematics, Literature and Foreign Languages ​​on two days 18 and 19.

Round 2 is the entrance exam according to the British Baccalaureate training program, scheduled to take place in two days June 29-30 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry in English and English subjects (writing and speaking test). In which, Math, Physics and Chemistry exam questions in English according to CAIE standards, 60 minutes for each subject. English essay test done in 60 minutes. English speaking contest by topic is randomly drawn.

Previously, many students and parents expressed concern and confusion because the public 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi will take place from June 19, while information about the program but the high school diploma has not been announced.

The dual training program for the Vietnamese National High School Baccalaureate and the British Baccalaureate (A-Level Certificate) has been piloted by Hanoi at the high school level from the 2017-2018 school year. A-Level certificates are recognized and appreciated by many of the world’s top universities.
