Dr. Dung shared that it was the case of a 56-year-old female patient, who had gone through menopause, was hospitalized with vaginal bleeding. According to the patient’s share, because her husband was on a business trip for a long time, when they returned, they did “sex” quite enthusiastically. Before entering the battle, the two foreplayed carefully and were psychologically comfortable to be ready for the “communication”. “After checking, this female patient was not torn with her clothes. When I touched the cervix, I was surprised to discover a lot of ridges and bumps inside. Those are the interlaced papillary tumors in the patient’s uterus, which may have metastasized to the rectum. The results of taking samples for biopsy then concluded that the patient had cervical cancer and had to undergo treatment with a combination of methods from surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. The patient is currently being treated, but has metastasized to the abdomen, heart, and lungs,” shared Dr.
Through the above case, Dr. Dung said that it is extremely important for women to go for cervical cancer screening, breast cancer when reaching menopause and perimenopause. For example, the female patient above has too many tumors inside, when having sex, it will be rubbed, causing the tumor to burst and cause bleeding. If there is no incident when “falling in love”, it is unlikely that the patient will know that he or she has cancer.
According to Dr. Dung, many women in perimenopause and menopause often experience discomfort, hot flashes, and trouble sleeping, but they don’t think it’s due to a hormonal problem. Therefore, many cases go to specialists such as psychiatry, neurology, internal medicine, etc., which are very expensive but do not get sick.

Dr. Dung advises, for women who have entered menopause, the gynecological examination is very quick and simple, not as complicated as when it was a girl. Once the cancer has been thoroughly screened, if there is no abnormality, it will have to be re-examined once every 1-2 years. After 70 years of age, if the cervix is stable, then there is no need to check again.
On the contrary, the case of natural abnormal bleeding or discharge with an unpleasant odor is very ominous and needs to be examined immediately. It could be a warning sign of cervical cancer, uterine polyps or cancer of the lining of the uterus.
“There are many people who have bleeding during sex and think that it is because the vagina is dry when reaching menopause, so they do not go to the doctor. This is extremely dangerous. If you don’t go to the doctor for early detection and timely treatment, the disease will get worse and spread easily,” warned Dr.
