Hwang In Yeop thought it was faint but impressive in Why Her? on FPT Play

Marking the re-appearance of female director Park Soo Jin, who has handled many cult TV works, the movie Why Her? (Vietnamized title: Why Oh Soo Jae?) had 2 very successful opening episodes when introducing the audience to the interesting main characters. In particular, among them, the student Gong Chan (played by Hwang In Yeop) is the face that attracts the most attention.

Going through a lot of suffering in the past, Gong Chan was fortunate to have the opportunity to redo his life and was determined to pursue a career in law. At the lecture hall, Gong Chan happened to meet his old benefactor – female lawyer Oh Soo Jae (Seo Hyun Jin). With his help, Soo Jae regains faith in justice and gradually exposes the truth of those who have harmed her before. Since then, the two have gradually developed unexpected feelings.

A guy with an impressive past and personality

At first, the young man with the gentle, calm student appearance appeared quite faint. However, he gradually attracted viewers’ attention because of his kind heart and a crush on the female lead. Despite many objections about Oh Soo Jae’s private life, Gong Chan still believes strongly in her.

In particular, Gong Chan’s warm and optimistic personality is not innate. Many years ago, he had to go through a terrible time when he had to bear the name of a rapist, murdered his own sister, was coerced by the police, beaten up by the media, and denied by his family.

In those dark days, the young female lawyer who just graduated Oh Soo Jae was the only one who trusted and accepted his defense. Although she could not win the case, the image of the girl “burning out” in court with the motto “absolutely not letting the client go to jail” made Gong Chan remember forever. The boy promised himself that, if there was a chance, he would definitely find her again.

It is easy to see that this is a character very different from the common ground of current Korean court dramas. Despite going to the end of the pain and suffering all kinds of injustice, Gong Chan did not choose the path of “blackening”, embracing hatred and hatred, but on the contrary, still kept a good and positive soul.

The one who saved the heroine from the fallen path

Thanks to the real killer who fell into the law, Gong Chan was fortunate to be vindicated and back to life. He decided to change his name, change his last name, study hard, and pass the entrance exam to Seojung Law School. Gong Chan coincidentally reunited with Oh Soo Jae, who is working as a lecturer here.

From a female lawyer fighting for justice to becoming a lover of power, Oh Soo Jae becomes someone who is ready to use herself as a bait to control the opponent to win in court. Although shocked by the benefactor’s unbelievable change, he still believes that Soo Jae is a good person. Therefore, Gong Chan tried everything to rekindle the fire of justice in her.

For example, when Oh Soo Jae and female student Na Se Ryun in the same group were respectively sexually harassed by a professor surnamed Seo, instead of heeding the advice of “just let it go” from the female lecturer, Gong Chan appealed again. Friends are eager to collect evidence. He even brought it up to the school board, turning the mediation into a “trial” to denounce the pervert disguised as a teacher.

Years of scratching and peeling skin in prison have trained this young man a strong bravery, not afraid of anyone. That is what made Oh Soo Jae change his mind and testify to protect him and the poor girl.

Like to move, don’t say much!

Possessing rare qualities, Gong Chan also scores strongly for his masculinity, ready to sacrifice himself for the one he loves. When he saw “beautiful sister” Soo Jae being harassed, Gong Chan immediately rushed to stop, even ready to take action if the perverted professor did not leave. Not only that, Gong Chan completely captivated the sisters with extremely romantic actions: holding the female lead’s hand and boldly saying “I like the professor.” to quell rumors that she is eyeing female student Na Se Ryun.

Notably, despite being attached to a love story “she – student”, but the two are quite similar in age (Gong Chan entered law school after being vindicated and spent time reviewing). Therefore, the love story between them still receives a lot of sympathy and support from the audience.

As the most impressive name throughout the opening 2 episodes of the series Why Her?, the character Gong Chan marks the spectacular makeover of actor Hwang In Yeop after a series of cold bad boys. In addition, the next development of this K-drama promises to be very interesting, when the group of girls and girls begin to turn over the events that made Oh Soo Jae’s career slide.
