After 1 hour of surgery, N. had convulsions all over his body, was treated with anticonvulsants, then transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital in a state of lethargy, full body convulsions. After 36 hours of treatment, there was no clinical improvement, N. was taken to Children’s Hospital 2 with the diagnosis: Unexplained coma – After surgery for appendicitis on day 2. N. had a history of fever. 2 seizures at 18 and 24 months of age.

When admitted to Children’s Hospital 2, N. still had convulsions, his consciousness did not improve, was intubated, and mechanically ventilated. N. has a high fever, gradually worsens consciousness, and is hemodynamically unstable depending on vasomotor.

Patients were tested for etiology, diagnosed with acute encephalitis, potentially autoimmune encephalitis, 5 cycles of plasma exchange, poor consciousness, repeatedly failed ventilator weaning, tracheostomy.

Currently, N. has no fever, pain stimulation with limb movement, mechanical ventilation through tracheostomy, hemodynamic stability (vasomotor has stopped).

Previously, Tien Phong reported that on the evening of May 4, N. complained of abdominal pain, so the next morning, his mother, HTKL, took her child to Krong Pac District General Hospital (belonging to Krong Pac District Medical Center) for a checkup. . At this time, the baby’s temperature was measured at 38 .^oC, normal health.

The doctor diagnosed her with appendicitis, had to do surgery and the family agreed. At 10 o’clock on May 5, N. was taken to the operating room, at 11:34, the doctor asked family members to wake him up.
