Before that, on May 8, Duong Thi Yen Nhi and her friends went to the area of ​​Hai Trai bridge, Tan Lam river, Ninh Phung commune, when they discovered that the two companions had slipped into a deep water hole. and showing signs of drowning.

Yen Nhi bravely jumped down to push the two drowning friends to the shore, and she herself was swept into a deep water hole leading to death. Yen Nhi is a student of class 5D, Ninh Than Primary School, a child in a poor and difficult family in the commune.

Her brave action has been appreciated, recognized and commended by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers and the local authorities.
