Rare accident: 2 American workers stuck in a chocolate tank

“The rescue team had to cut a hole in the side of the tank chocolate to get these two people out,” Lancaster County’s 911 operator told CNN after the incident.
According to US media, two Mars Wrigley workers fell into the chocolate tank of the factory in Pennsylvania and could not get out by themselves. Until the rescue team arrived, the two could not move because the chocolate was up to their waists.
Photos on social media showed many police cars, vehicles of the rescue force parked outside the factory during the rescue of two workers. Mars Wrigley confirmed the incident happened at a company’s factory located in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
Immediately after being taken out of the chocolate tank, the two were immediately transported to the hospital.
ABC News reported that one person was transported by ambulance while the other had to be transported by helicopter. The status of both is unknown.
Mars Wrigley is a multinational corporation with a history of more than 110 years, specializing in the production of confectionery for humans, pet food and pet care services. Familiar chocolate candy brands such as M&M, Snickers or Doublemint gum are products of Mars Wrigley.
