Ho Chi Minh City bans cars on many central routes, how to travel?

Some central routes fall on the nights starting May 14, 15 and 19.

Accordingly, Nguyen Hue street bans cars at 6 pm to 9 pm (May 13, the Vietnamese team meets Myanmar) and on May 19 (semi-final match). According to the plan proposed by the Department of Transport, when it is forbidden to enter Nguyen Hue Street, the vehicle from Le Thanh Ton Street to Ton Duc Thang Street follows the route: Le Thanh Ton – Dong Khoi – Ton Duc Thang or Le Thanh Ton – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Ham Nghi – Ton Duc Thang.

With the direction from Ton Duc Thang street, the car goes along Ham Nghi – Pasteur street and then through Le Thanh Ton or from Ton Duc Thang turn into Me Linh Square through Hai Ba Trung to Le Thanh Ton.

Vehicles of people in the affected area when they need to travel during the prohibited hours can contact the Department of Culture and Sports for support. Pedestrians need to follow the instructions of the regulatory force, the traffic police, or the instructions of the sign system on the road.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City installed 5 large LED screens on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street to serve fans watching the matches of Vietnam U23 team at SEA Games 31. This is an outdoor event that attracts crowds. Island people participate.

In addition to Nguyen Hue Street, from 9pm on May 14 to 3:45pm on May 15, the city also restricts vehicles from entering some central streets to organize the Ho Chi Minh City Night Run in 2022.
