Binh Duong allocates a land fund of 1,600 hectares to build a series of houses for low-income people
According to Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, the province is expected to spend about 1,600ha of residential land to meet the population increase from 2.6 million to 3.25 million in the period 2021-2025. Currently, this locality has arranged a land fund, determined the area and location to build a series of social housing projects for low-income people. Currently, Binh Duong has invested in the construction of about 1.3 million m2 of residential floors, including: social housing invested by enterprises in 250,000 m2 construction; housing for social security, housing for workers invested by Becamex IDC 1,055,850m2. The whole province has 22 commercial housing projects with 20% of residential land reserved for social housing construction with a total residential land area of 64.53 ha.
Statistics show that 11 social housing projects in Binh Duong have non-budget capital, the lowest housing price is 5.6 million VND/m2 and the highest is 14.89 million VND/m2. As the province with the most industrial development, there are many foreign workers, and the demand for housing is very large. Here, Binh Duong will implement a series of social housing projects to meet demand.
Binh Duong estimates that the capital for housing development in the 2021-2025 period is about VND 130,000 billion, of which commercial housing is VND 49,800 billion, people build it from accumulated capital of VND 59,150 billion; Social housing, resettlement is about 21,050 billion VND. Binh Duong forecasts that by 2025, the total population will reach over 3.25 million people and is expected to use the residential land fund to increase by 1,600 hectares.
Regarding social housing investment in the 2016-2020 period, according to the plan, Binh Duong needs to invest more than 2,000,000 square meters of floor space. However, only about 65% of the plan was achieved due to many reasons. In addition, the social housing land fund in 32 commercial housing projects of about 100 hectares has not yet been constructed.
