The policy criticized by Meta is helping Apple make money

According to Business InsiderEddy Cue – Apple’s senior vice president of services, is considering restructuring Apple’s services business to redirect it to streaming and advertising.

Eddy Cue is said to have moved Peter Stern, Apple’s vice president of services, away from advertising, focusing only on the company’s services division. He also brought in Todd Teresi, Apple’s vice president of advertising, to take over Stern’s previous duties and report directly to Cue.

In its latest report, Apple said services include the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple News, Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, and Apple TV. icloud 825 million registered users, revenue of 19.8 billion USD.

Apple’s App Tracking Transparency policy, launched in 2021, is seen as a driving factor in the growth of Apple’s advertising business.

The policy forces developers to ask users to allow them to track different types of data. Opting out prevents apps from using the tools to deliver targeted ads.

This has prompted companies to spend more money on search ads on the App Store than on other products, analysts say. A report from research firm Omdia says that Apple has grown its advertising business by 238% to $3.7 billion in 2021 compared to 2020, and predicts the company will earn 5.5. billion dollars this year alone.

Apple has even offered ad slots during live streams of Friday Night Baseball games and will likely expand those sports activities more.

Reports also say that “apple defect” is negotiating for the right to broadcast the award basketball Professionals of America (NBA). Puck also confirmed that Apple has reached an agreement to buy the rights to stream the NFL Sunday Ticket.
