2 tourists drown while swimming in the sea in Mui Ne

On the morning of May 14, the authorities of Binh Thuan province contacted the relatives of two people swimming in the sea who drowned at Mui Ne National Tourist Area.

Before that, at 4pm on May 13, a group of 4 tourists from Hanoi came down to bathe at Da Ong Dia beach (Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city). About 20 minutes later, 4 people were swept away by the waves. Immediately, people and rescue forces rushed to the rescue.

However, only 2 of them were brought ashore. The other two people, Mr. Ngo Ngoc Quang (31 years old) and Pham Hong Hai (30 years old), were swept away by the waves, nearly 2 hours later, the bodies were found.

Da Ong Dia beach along with some other sea areas in Binh Thuan sometimes appear offshore currents (RIP currents) pulling bathers away. This is one of the causes of drowning for many people in recent times.
