Prior to its release, the film attracted attention when it marked Hoai Linh’s return to the big screen, because Win the jackpot (2018). In the film, Hoai Linh plays Bay’s mother – a transgender person in a poor village. Seven Tinh has a great influence on the main character’s life when he is the first to recognize the true gender of Male, thus accompanying him throughout the process of his growth. Not because of blood, Seven is Men’s spiritual support when he fell because his family rejected him.

Despite playing a supporting role, Hoai Linh is the main one. Bay Tinh is a familiar role on stage and in the film Hoai Linh, so artists are free to let it go. The character appears at the beginning of the film in a grandmother’s costume, hair in a high bun. Hoai Linh managed the physical comedic style of the drama so as not to overdo it when it came to the big screen. Many lines are inserted in the segments to create a soft laugh.

In the marble arrangement, the artist evokes many emotions with expressions and eyes. When Men decided to leave the house, Bay Tinh advised him to keep crying to ease the pain. One of the key scenes of the film is when Bay Tinh does Man’s hair and makeup, helping him find himself in his female form for the first time. Hoai Linh fully described how Bay Tinh comforted and encouraged Men with the sentence: “From now on, even if you are sad, you must be beautiful.”

The role of Hoai Linh’s reappearance is also utilized by the scriptwriter until the point of arrival, appearing at the end. Vo Dang Khoa – producer – said that the artist initially refused the invitation many times. In the end, he accepted because he sympathized with the film’s message – encouraging the LGBT community to find happiness.

Hoai Linh was born in 1969, from Quang Nam. In the 1990s, the actor caused quite a stir overseas when he acted in a comedy alongside Van Son. In the early 2000s, the artist returned to his homeland to live and work. Apart from acting, this comedian is also a judge on game shows and has appeared in many films. At the end of December 2021, after half a year of noisy artists, slow disbursement of donations to the Central region, the Ho Chi Minh City police determined that there was no sign guilty. In January, the artist participated in the drama Lost in a sea of people– one of 26 works for the Southern Regional Drama Festival, awarded by the festival arts council. gold medal.

However, the script has a lot of holes. Love Story – a transgender person who falls in love with a heterosexual person – has appeared in a number of films on the same topic, usually Bingo (2017). However, the way the director constructs the situation, the character’s personality is inconsistent. At the beginning of the film, Men is a tough and masculine young man who struggles to defend the weak. Only after the scene leaves the house, she takes the form of a woman with a grandmother’s shirt and long flowing hair. Changes in personality and gender orientation have not been well explained, making it difficult for viewers to understand the director’s intentions.

Some details – like the Man admitting to assaulting someone else instead of me – are left unresolved. Supporting characters also make a lot of mistakes in telling stories. For 12 years, even though he was a “straight man”, I went from best friend to man husband without any explanation. In the main cast, only the character Binh An (Anh Tu) – who has been chasing Men since childhood – has a simple and easy-to-understand storyline.

The old dialogue is also the weak point of this film. Despite efforts, this work is still full of drama in continuous dialogue scenes, especially the part of Men arguing in the middle of the market. In the tragic scenes, the words of the characters are implanted philosophically, making the film long. Some of the actors’ dialogues that are too expressive are easy to make the audience laugh – not empathize – in some scenes. The work also misuses music to “spark” the audience’s emotions, thereby making the scene resemble a music video, such as the part where a character faints while singing in the rain.
