Originally an employee at an import-export company with an income of 20 million VND per month, Mr. Dong, 32, decided to quit his job to switch to agriculture. Explaining the shift, he said that he comes from a farmer’s son, is passionate about agriculture, so he wants to contribute a little effort to increase the value of Vietnamese agricultural products to the world market.
Realizing that Israel is an arid desert but developed agriculture, in 2016, Dong decided to spend all his savings to study in Israel. Here, he met some Vietnamese friends, the group met after returning home and decided to start a business together.
After a period of research, in 2018, he returned home first to find an investment destination. After considering many criteria about climate and land fund, he and a group of friends decided to choose the land in Suoi Mo valley, Ninh Thuong commune, Ninh Hoa town, as a place to start a business, naming the farm “The Moshav Farm” “. Initially, the entire farm area was only 10 hectares wide.

At first, the whole farm had only 5 people, the work was so much that the team worked day and night to improve the land and plan the farm. To solve the problem of human resources, the team built a trainee program through connecting farms with universities, giving students the opportunity to experience the modern way of farming. During the internship, people with suitable qualifications will be invited to work with the whole team.
From an arid land, after 3 years, the farm has expanded from 10 hectares to 56 hectares, divided into many specific areas such as medicinal plants, livestock, and product processing. Many high-value agricultural products such as dwarf Siamese coconuts, pomelos, grapes… develop. The investment capital including land for the farm is up to 50 billion VND. In addition to crops, the farm also raises sheep, resulting in more than 100 heads from 30 to now; raising more deer, ostrich and ostriches to serve tourism in the coming time.
The farm also creates its own budget to experiment with different animals and crops. If effective, it will be transferred to local farmers for production. The amount of agricultural products after harvest is purchased by the farm at a price equal to or higher than the market price to generate income for the farmer. Farm owners always consider local farmers an important link in the product chain.

Besides, the medicinal herbs grown on the farm are applied science and technology such as hot and cold drying to create organic agricultural products such as cold packs, mineral mud masks… Currently, There are 10 different product lines supplied to the market through 300 wholesale and retail channels across the country.
After a period of construction, the farm has operated smoothly, reaching a revenue of one billion dong per month. The farm has a total of 34 full-time employees, more than 10 local workers and receives dozens of interns who want to learn how to do modern agriculture.
Mr. Le Minh Tam, Head of Economic Division (Ninh Hoa Town People’s Committee), said that starting a business from agriculture is a very daring job, especially for young people. Hopefully, in the future, the farm model from Israel of Mr. Dong’s group will develop many agricultural products, contributing to supporting local farmers.
