Germany strengthens Meta surveillance

With this decision, the German Federal Competition Administration Office will have the authority to intervene against potential competition violations under German law, effective from the beginning of the previous year.

Outside Meta, Germany has also put Google under this close scrutiny. Big tech companies are facing increasing scrutiny around the world over their dominant positions and business taxes.

In March, the EU and UK also launched antitrust investigations into Google and Meta related to online advertising.
