On the morning of May 10, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance, said that of these, more than 900 businesses that owe social insurance for more than 6 months will be inspected according to the plan. tripled in previous years. About 9,500 businesses that have a debt from one month will be unexpectedly inspected if they are late to pay large amounts, show signs of evasion, and affect many employees.

By the end of March, the city recorded nearly 45,000 businesses social insurance debt from one to more than 12 months with a total amount of more than 4,000 billion VND. In which, about 25,000 units owe 1-3 months with more than 1,500 billion dong; over 12,800 businesses owe from 3 to under 12 months with a total amount of nearly 665 billion dong; nearly 6,400 debt units over 12 months with more than 1,700 billion dong. The total amount owed by businesses accounts for nearly 7% of the City Social Security’s 2022 collection plan.

Ho Chi Minh City is the largest social insurance revenue and spending locality in the country. Currently, City Insurance manages more than 110,000 businesses and units with more than 2.3 million people participating in compulsory social insurance; more than 51,000 people participate in voluntary social insurance and nearly 8.2 million people participate in health insurance.
