Sharp announces Aquos R7 giant camera, terrible configuration-Hi-tech fashion

Sharp has announced its 2022 high-end phone called Aquos R7 as the successor to last year’s Aquos R6.

The Aquos R6 comes with a large 1-inch sensor camera co-developed with Leica. This year’s product has the same large sensor as its predecessor, but comes with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip as well as a slightly changed design.

The Aquos R7 features a 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 240 Hz adaptive refresh rate. More importantly, Sharp focuses on impressive features on the product such as 2,000 nits brightness, 10-bit color support and Dolby Vision screen technology. The front and back of the phone are both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, while the panel also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 12.6 MP selfie camera.

What’s more interesting is that on the back of the phone comes a 47 MP main camera with a huge 1-inch sensor that Sharp claims can collect up to 1.8 times more light than last year’s Aquos R6. The sensor, co-developed by Sharp and Leica, comes with a 7-element Leica Summicron lens, f/1.9 aperture and 19mm focal length. The other camera sensor on the back is a 1.9 MP portrait sensor.

Sharp gives users the choice of a single memory configuration for the Aquos 7 of 12/256 GB. The phone is IP68 certified, runs Android 12 and has a 5,000 mAh battery. The device has 2 colors Black and Silver, starting to be available in the Japanese market from July with price information and release time not yet given.

Besides the Aquos R6, Sharp also announced a new mid-range device called the brand new Aquos Wish2 with Snapdragon 695 chip and running Android 12 out of the box. Both new devices will be offered exclusively for the Japanese market.

Sharp Aquos Wish2 is a mid-range phone with Snapdragon 695 chip with 5.7-inch HD+ LCD screen and 3,730 mAh battery. Sharp claims 35% of the Aquos Wish2’s case is made from recycled plastic. The phone is also IP68 rated and runs Android 12 upon release. It has a 13MP main camera on the back and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. Aquos Wish2 is available in White, Charcoal, Blue, and Coral colors. Information on the price and release date of the product has not been released yet.
