Who are the 4 Vietnamese athletes proposed to receive the Second Class Labor Medal?

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently proposed to the Central Emulation and Commendation Board a list of rewards for the Vietnamese sports delegation after the 31st SEA Games.

Accordingly, 4 athletes are proposed to be awarded the Second-class Labor Medal by the President.

21 individuals and collectives were proposed to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.

305 individuals and collectives were proposed to receive certificates of merit from the Prime Minister, 388 individuals and groups received commendations from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

4 athletes proposed to be awarded the Second-class Labor Medal include: Nguyen Thi Oanh (athletics); Nguyen Huy Hoang, Tran Hung Nguyen (swimming) and Nguyen Thi Huong (boat racing).

Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh, who won 3 gold medals in 3 events of 1,500 m, 5,000 m and 3,000 m over obstacles, broke a SEA Games record in the 3,000 m obstacle course.

Athlete Nguyen Huy Hoang, won a gold medal in swimming (including 4 gold medals in individual events: 400m freestyle, 1,500m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 200m butterfly and 1 gold medal in men’s 4x200m freestyle relay), breaking 2 SEA Games records in the 400m freestyle and the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay.

Swimmer Tran Hung Nguyen won gold medals in men’s 200m medley, men’s 400m medley, 4x200m freestyle and men’s 200m backstroke. In which, in the men’s 200m backstroke, Vietnam has never had a gold medal at the SEA Games.

Athlete Nguyen Thi Huong excellently won 5 gold medals, including 3 individual gold medals and 2 team gold medals in canoeing.

Among the 21 collectives and individuals proposed to be awarded the Third-class Labor Medal, there are athletics team (won 22 gold medals), wrestling team (17 gold medals), swimming team (11 gold medals)…

It is expected that at the beginning of June, the Government leaders will meet to commend and reward the outstanding achievements of the Vietnamese Youth Union in Hanoi. SEA Games 31.
