Apple to launch mixed reality device next year

There have been many reports and speculations about the possibility Apple will introduce its new mixed reality headset at WWDC 2022. However, “apple defect” did not mention the device or any related features during the event.

According to technology industry analysis, Apple is expected to start testing technical validation with headphone themselves in the next 3 months. If all goes well, the product will be announced in early 2023 with pre-orders and shelves a few months later. Kuo also said Apple will soon provide access to new product for developers after the announcement to the media.

What caused the delay in the announcement of Apple’s headphones was the result of the zero-Covid policy in China, affecting multiple supply chains. Previously, Kuo said Apple did not want to announce the product nearly a year before its official release, to avoid giving competitors time to copy the feature.

Based on rumors, Apple’s AR/VR headset will feature three innovative displays, with two Micro OLED and one AMOLED display, as well as sensors for environment and gesture detection. The device has up to 14 built-in small cameras for monitoring.

The new mixed reality headset will be equipped with an Apple Silicon chip that delivers high graphics performance. Leaked models suggest that the design will be inspired by the AirPods Max and Apple Watch, which could cost up to $3,000.
