Peace message from Russian and Ukrainian artist

Calligraphy stretches across the roofs of nine buildings with the words “United World”, uniting the world in six languages: Russian, Ukrainian, English, Chinese, French and Indonesian.

Porkas Lampas – Russian artist shared: “This work is not a political statement, it is a cultural statement, a social statement about people and the way we can unite together. together to create a harmonious future”.

Mr. Lampas is 30 years old, has lived on the island of Bali since the end of last year. He said the idea with some of these Ukrainian friends was born before the war started, and in the current situation, the work makes more sense.

As for Alex Shtefan, a 35-year-old Ukrainian who has lived in Indonesia for 6 years and is running the villa, he thinks that the work is also the voice of his heart. “When Pokras came up with this idea, that was also my thought. We could show people that the world needs to unite.”

One Russian, one Ukrainian, both think we can negotiate peace to end this war and that needs to be done now.
