iPhone 14 may not use the same chip as iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max

For the first time, Apple may have a significant change in iPhone chip equipment for the iPhone 14 set of 4.

According to BRG, Apple will use the A16 Bionic chip for the iPhone 14 and A16 Pro for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This is unprecedented in Apple’s iPhone history when it always uses the same system on chip (SoC) for all iPhone devices at the same time of launch.

iPhone 14 may not use the same chip as iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max

Reports suggest that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will use the A15 Bionic that was found on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. However, the chip on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be more powerful, named A16 Bionic.

Although the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max use the same chip as the iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max generation, Apple is expected to name it “A16” instead of the A15 Bionic version. For iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, most likely Apple will use A16 Pro more powerful than A16.

According to GizChina, A15 has superior power than the top chips on Android smartphones. Therefore, Apple may not have equipped the new chip too much for the non-Pro series.

All iPhone 14 versions will have 6GB RAM, however, Pro and Pro Max versions will use LPDDR5 RAM generation to bring faster speeds. The iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max version will have a pill-shaped and round hole screen design, while the two standard versions will still use “rabbit ears”. The rear camera of the iPhone 14 generation will increase significantly from 12 megapixels to 48 megapixels.

Traditionally, Apple will introduce products in September every year, the iPhone 14 quartet is no exception. Among the rumors, it is more likely that the iPhone 14 will cost the same as the iPhone 13. The only models that will increase in price are the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, which are expected to increase by around $100.
