Stipe Petic, a 57-year-old man, was so impressed by the TV series ‘Vikings’ that he started calling himself Ragnar Kavurson and “carrying an ax” for a living.

This man shared that his fascination with Viking culture started from watching the hit series of the same name ‘Vikings’. Returning to his homeland in Tomislavgrad in southern Bosnia after ten years working on construction sites in Germany, he was captivated by the story of the legendary hero Ragnar Lothbrok. After changing her appearance to mimic the Norse warrior of legend, and borrowing the name of her favorite Viking character Ragnar, “Bosnia Viking” began creating Viking axes and shields exquisite decoration.

The Bosnian man also shared: “After watching the Vikings series, I really liked Ragnar’s ax and I wanted to make a similar one myself.”

Petic’s workshop in Tomislavgrad is now stocked with Viking axes and shields, and he even has wooden statues used to practice throwing axes. A “loyal fan”, he also owns statues of Ragnar and Lagertha, of course, by Travis Fimmel and Katheryn Winnick.

Outside the workshop is a “drakkar” – a typical Viking boat style made by the 57-year-old himself.

With a long white beard, braided hair and traditional tunic, Stipe Petic looks a lot like a mid-modern Viking. Despite his main job as a driver, the man still tries to spend all his spare time on his passions such as making Viking axes and shields, which he can then sell for as little as $1. 25 to 300 euros (about 600,000 VND – 7,500,000 VND).

“My life took a 180-degree turn after I found my purpose. Compared to now, I used to earn more money in Germany but I am not happy at all. But the current life makes me very satisfied, “Petic shared.
