The event was attended by Ambassador Le Viet Duyen, GIDC Vice President Royston Cumberbatch, GIDC Executive Director Ronald Theodore, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Grenada and about 20 local businesses.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Royston Cumberbatch informed about the investment fields that the Government of Grenada wishes to promote as well as policies to attract foreign investors.

The GIDC representative expressed that Grenada has many conditions for investors to exploit, not only in tourism, but also in other potential fields such as agriculture, telecommunications, energy and education. Foreign investors, when investing in Grenada, in addition to receiving preferential policies, also have the advantage of tax exemption when accessing the US and European Union (EU) markets.

Affirming that the workshop contributes to enhancing cooperation prospects between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment and tourism, Mr. Royston Cumberbatch also expressed his wish that there would be many experienced investors of the two countries. Vietnam comes to Grenada to seek investment opportunities in the near future.

For his part, Ambassador Le Viet Duyen expressed his delight at the reception of GIDC, affirming that Vietnam and Grenada have many similarities that can be exploited and enhanced cooperation.

The Ambassador said that, after more than 35 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has become the 40th largest economy in the world, with a total GDP of 343 billion USD in 2021, per capita income is constantly improving and increasing. high.

Vietnam has a lot of experience in the agricultural sector and is currently the world’s leading exporter of many agricultural products, such as the second largest exporter of rice and coffee, the largest exporter of pepper and cashew nuts in the world. .

Grenada businesses can find suppliers of quality food, food and agricultural products from Vietnam. Besides, Vietnam also has many fast-growing and advantageous fields such as green economy, digital economy, electrical industry, electronics, electric cars…

The Ambassador said that Vietnamese businesses would be interested in learning about the policies and preferential conditions of the Government of Grenada; expressed his belief that with the coordination of GIDC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides will soon have investment cooperation projects in the future.

Grenada’s Minister of Agriculture, Land, Forest and Labor wishes to cooperate with Vietnam in aquaculture, seafood, and agricultural machinery production to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Grenada.

Ambassador Le Viet Duyen expressed his pleasure and appreciated Grenada’s interest in cooperation with Vietnam in the field of agriculture; Emphasizing that Vietnam has strengths in production experience, human resources, techniques and seeds, especially having experience in cooperation with Cuba and Venezuela in implementing agricultural development projects such as seed breeding, rice cultivation, etc. Seafood Aquaculture.

The two sides agreed to soon promote the exchange between the two ministries of Agriculture, organize scientific seminars between the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Forest and Labor of Grenada and Vietnamese partners to share experiences. on areas of mutual interest, towards the signing of an agreement on agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
