VinFast builds an electric car factory in the US

On the afternoon of March 29, in Raleigh city, North Carolina state, USA, Company VinFast and the North Carolina state government held a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on the construction of VinFast’s first electric car factory in the North American market.

VinFast’s factory has a total investment of about 2 billion USD in phase 1, is located at Triangle Innovation Point industrial park with an area of ​​800 hectares and includes 3 main areas: manufacturing and assembling electric cars and vehicles. electric bus; battery production area for electric vehicle products and ancillary industry area for suppliers.

Phase 1 of the factory will start construction this year and is expected to go into operation in July 2024, with a capacity of phase 1 of 150,000 cars per year.

According to the memorandum of understanding, VinFast will invest in different phases and create jobs for thousands of workers in North Carolina.

The US government has set a target that by 2030, half of all cars sold in the US will be electric. This is a great opportunity for automakers to increase their market share of electric vehicles in the US. Currently, electric cars are out of stock in the US, consumers after making a deposit have to wait a few months to have a car.
