The cable car broke, 63 people were suspended at an altitude of 460m for 45 hours
On the afternoon of April 12, at the tourist area on Trikut hill, province Jharkhand, India had a rare accident. On the cable car dubbed “India’s tallest cable car”, a sudden collision caused the cable car’s pulley to break and stop working. A total of 63 tourists were suspended in the air at an altitude of about 460 meters for 45 hours in fear.
The outing of 63 people has turned into a nightmare
After receiving the notification, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) immediately dispatched personnel to the rescue. More than 60 people, who were having fun, had a nightmare because they were suspended without food or water for 45 hours.
Because at an altitude of up to 450 meters and the situation was too complicated, it took the rescue team nearly 2 days to rescue all the people trapped.
In an interview with India Today, one survivor said: “We had no water, food and no electricity for almost 2 days. 6 family members and I were forced to go to the bathroom in a small bottle.”
Unfortunately, after being rescued, 3 people were still killed in the cable car incident. One person is presumed dead before and two people fell from the helicopter during the rescue, fell into the valley below and died.

The Indian government announced that all the families of the deceased will receive 500,000 rupees (about 150 million VND) in compensation. The accident has raised public questions about the safety of the famous cable car. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
