Don’t live like an ‘old man’ when you’re a student-Youth

Thu Phuong (born in 2001), is currently a 3rd year student at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. Born and raised in the historical land of Hung Yen, since high school, Phuong has gone in a different direction from most of her peers in the countryside when she enrolled in journalism – Phuong’s childhood dream.

This decision of mine did not receive the support of family and friends, but I always think that do what you want to do, pursue whatever passion you have, become what you want because you only have one life. life and a chance to do it. I finally made that dream come true. As a journalism student, I was fortunate to participate in many club activities in the school as well as do journalism right from my freshman year of university, besides being a model photographer.

In high school, everyone wishes to be away from home and be free, but when they are away from their parents’ arms, it is not easy to understand “freedom”. Going to university you will have to do everything completely alone without anyone beside you to encourage or help you, group exercises, activities, sad – happy, happy – miserable all have to be alone. Before, it was okay to lie down on the bed at any time, with parents helping with everything, but now I have to take care of everything alone, arrange work alone, and try to overcome it alone. Why can’t my mother find clothes for me, why can’t my mother wake me up every morning… Even though I know that I have to follow my passion, the efforts of my parents and myself in the past have come out. new stars get today. But there are times when I briefly think that I don’t want to continue this cycle, I just want to stay at home with my mother forever, to be like a child with her mother. And now my mother is also my motivation to try and improve every day.

As a young person who likes dynamism and enthusiasm, each activity I participate in is an opportunity for me to broaden my horizons and experience new things in life. Continuing to pursue a career in media when I signed up to collaborate for Vietnam Top Fashion And Hair contest and then Youth Magazine. But perhaps more special is meeting everyone on the faculty’s welcome event committee, everyone taught me how to share, see life in a more tolerant way and teach professions. When running the event, I get to work with more press agencies, know how to organize an event, how to work with the media.

I not only set a goal of studying well to have solid specialized knowledge to serve my work, but also require myself to have very good skills, live responsibly with family and society. During the pandemic, I signed up for an online course on Google skills, which is completely free. But you still get a genuine certificate right after finishing the course.

Each person will choose a different way of living and contributing to society, some people choose to be safe, some people choose to be quiet, others choose to be noisy and bustling. But in the period of international integration, young people like us should not let ourselves “relax”.

Protecting health is also a “work” of our young people’s concern, especially during the current pandemic. I always spend 15 minutes a day exercising. I find it important when I go on a career trip, hearing the character’s story, inspires me a lot because she decided to donate her whole organ at a very young age and how you learned to protect your body. And once worked with a very young boy when he suffered a serious illness – brain cancer.

Currently, in addition to working in media, I also tutor and take samples when I have free time. I feel that experiencing many jobs is also an interesting challenge to help me have the right perspective and steps, accumulate a lot of real life experiences, and be a solid luggage after graduation.

Therefore, seizing every opportunity and daring to challenge yourself is a right investment for the future. I always plan for myself for a week so that I don’t miss anything.

In the near future, I hope not to have a day wasted. Despite the epidemic situation, it taught me how to be more flexible in life. I will try my best to continue my dream of becoming a journalist and media in the most complete way.

Don’t hesitate and hesitate for too long and don’t let yourself live like an “old person” when you are young. Youth is for each of us to decide for ourselves.
