NetherlandsHien Nguyen, a German international student, has just had a trip in early April and shared about impressive things.

Hien’s trip lasted 6 days and 5 nights, to two places, the ancient village of Giethoorn and Amsterdam. Here are the things that make the young girl most impressed when she first visits the Dutch capital, which is always ranked in the top of the happiest countries in the world.

Colorful Amsterdam, friendly people This is the girl’s first impression. “Houses in the Netherlands mostly keep the red brick color. Many houses are painted in different colors, looking very nice and eye-catching. People dress beautifully and elegantly with outstanding colors such as red, blue, orange. .. Flags of the LGBT community appear in many places, making the city seem more colorful”, Hien said. In addition to their mother tongue, people speak English very well. This is what took her by surprise. In addition, they are also very friendly.

Sex and marijuana is the second thing Hien impressed. “This is one of the countries that legalizes marijuana, so in the city center it won’t take long to find a place to smoke or buy the drug. Coffee shops, especially in the afternoon From evening onwards, it is often crowded with people to smoke. The shop also sells muffins and cannabis crackers with levels of light (medium), heavy (strong) and very heavy (stoned).

When buying cakes, the staff will ask for identification to determine whether you are old enough or not. Therefore, you should bring your passport or citizenship to prove your age. However, she advises to be cautious when eating or testing cannabis products.

Prostitution and sex-related products are also legal, openly sold. Some souvenir shops, visitors can buy items related to this sensitive topic. Many dishes are designed with funny shapes, making many customers laugh.

De Wallen is the busiest of the red light districts in Amsterdam. Along the two banks of the canal are rows of streets interspersed with houses and brothels. The florists were all wearing bikinis behind the glass doors. Hien was advised not to hold up her phone to take pictures of flower girls, so when she came to this place, she just passed by to admire.

The Netherlands has many museum, and each museum attracts Hien’s attention, because they each have their own attractions. “If interested, you can visit the Sex museum, which displays drawings, photographs, statues and videos related to this topic. All the materials here are very authentic, so I recommend that everyone over 18 years old should visit,” Hien said.

The place she recommends everyone to definitely visit is the Van Gogh museum, which displays more than 200 drawings from different periods of his life as well as the artists Van Gogh was inspired by. The thing that makes her regret the most is not being able to see the famous Starry night with her own eyes. “That painting is being displayed in the US, instead of the Netherlands,” Hien said.

About Eating, Hien suggests everyone should try herring fish salad, grilled ribs and stroopwafels (a kind of syrupy waffle). These are the things she is attracted to. “Dutch waffle is different in that it is like a soft cookie with caramel in the middle, sweet and fragrant. Stroopwafels are sold at many bakeries in the city,” the young woman shared.

One place Vietnamese tourists should visit, like Hien, is Chinatown. This place has many Asian dishes for you to change your meal like Vietnamese, Chinese Sichuan, Japanese. She ate beef noodle soup for 13 euros at a restaurant cooked by Chinese and Hien feels that the taste is very similar to that in Vietnam. The shop also has Hue beef noodle soup for 14.5 euros.

About souvenir, she loves the famous wooden shoes, which are more than 300 years old. It works to help farmers herd cows, horses … protect their feet if accidentally stepped on by animals.

“These wooden clogs are so strong and sturdy that even a car will pass through your feet. Due to the hard material, people have to wear thick woolen socks when wearing the clogs to keep their feet from hurting. Souvenirs pictured here Small wooden clogs are very pretty and colorful and textured, you should buy them as gifts.

The Netherlands has brought Hien many interesting and fun experiences. She hopes to return to this place many times in the future.
