Nghe An: Breaking the prostitution brokerage line ‘labeled’ students led by 9X

The police of Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) are criminally holding Nguyen Ba Thanh (SN 1994, residing in Lang Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An) to investigate the act of brokering prostitution.

According to the police, from the beginning of April 2022 until now, through the work of grasping the situation, the police of Nghi Truong commune, the police of Nghi Loc district discovered a mobile sex trafficking and brokerage ring operating in the area. The subjects participating in the prostitution line are karaoke attendants, but they are students of universities in Nghe An province, with difficult circumstances.

By professional measures, the police determined that the operator of this line was Nguyen Ba Thanh (SN 1994, resident of Lang Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district), a waiter at a karaoke bar in Vinh City. When he noticed that some male customers had a need to “have fun”, Thanh connected guests with karaoke attendants to organize sex trade.

For guests wishing to “act” in Vinh City, Thanh will negotiate the price from 4-6 million VND/time. For guests wishing to spend the night in other areas, Thanh offers prices ranging from 12-15 million VND/night. Sex workers receive from VND 9-10 million, while Thanh gets VND 03-05 million for broker and operator.

After the monitoring period, at 1 am on April 16, 2022, at a hotel in Nghi Trung commune (Nghi Loc district), the police of Nghi Truong and Nghi Phong communes and the General Investigation Team (District Police) Nghi Loc) discovered and caught two male and female couples in the act of buying and selling sex, these couples through Thanh’s broker.

Right after that, the police also arrested Nguyen Ba Thanh to investigate the act of brokering prostitution.

Currently, Nghi Loc District Police are continuing to investigate and clarify.
