An incident suspected of being short-circuited has caused a fire at a kindergarten in Lang Co retail area, Nam Muoi commune (Van Chan district, Yen Bai province).
Talking to PV, Ms. Nguyen Hanh Nhu, Principal of Nam Muoi Kindergarten said: “Around 5:00 p.m. on April 27, after school, the students were picked up by their families, and the teachers also went to the guesthouse. After that, the school’s management board was informed by the people that they heard an explosion from the electrical outlet and smoke coming out of one of the school’s classrooms.
A kindergarten site in Yen Bai burned down.
However, due to the lack of fire fighting tools, people did not dare to knock on the door to enter the school to put out the fire.
Thankfully, there were no teachers or students at the school at the time of the fire.
“Because all furniture from tables and chairs, furniture is made of plastic, so when the fire spreads quickly, it is difficult to control,” said the Principal of Nam Muoi Kindergarten.
As soon as the incident happened, although the functional forces of the commune and local people were present in time, it took 2 hours to control the fire.
As a result, the school site was burned down to 95%, the damage was estimated at hundreds of millions of dong.
