On the morning of May 1, at the Government Headquarters, after talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio attended the Vietnam-Japan cooperation seminar in technological innovation, digital transformation and supply chain diversification organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Organization for the Promotion of Foreign Trade of Japan (Jetro).

Attending the Workshop were the Ministers, leaders of ministries and agencies under the Governments of Vietnam and Japan; managers, representatives of businesses, organizations, experts and scientists in the fields of science, technology and digital transformation of the two countries.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in the past time, the Party and State of Vietnam have led and directed all levels and branches to promote the application and development of science, technology and innovation; research, grasp, improve access capacity and actively participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, serving the country’s rapid and sustainable development.

Up to now, the digital economy is gradually being formed and developing rapidly; digital technology is applied in industries, agriculture and services; more and more forms of business, service, supply chain… based on digital technology platform; thereby creating more job opportunities, income, utilities, improving people’s quality of life.

The head of the Vietnamese Government said that Japan is a country with a highly developed economy, possessing the world’s leading advanced technology, and is one of the leading countries in the application of science and technology. and develop the digital economy and digital society.

Meanwhile, Vietnam’s economy is highly open, maintains a relatively fast growth rate, possesses abundant young human resources and has a need to improve competitiveness and industrial production efficiency. .

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam wishes to continue to receive close coordination, support and assistance from the Government and Japanese businesses in the process of accelerating technological innovation, digital transformation and supply chain diversification.

“The two countries can cooperate and share to accelerate the digital transformation of the two countries, thereby moving towards establishing a digital partnership,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Also according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese Government is committed to always accompanying and creating all favorable conditions for Japanese and Vietnamese businesses to further promote cooperation in all fields, in including technological innovation, digital transformation and supply chain diversification.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio stated that the possibility of cooperation between Japan and Vietnam is unlimited. Japan and Vietnam have been strengthening their cooperation even more towards the post-COVID-19 period.
